BENEFIT FUND CONTINUES TO SUPPORT COMMUNITY

The Grange Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund has now been in operation for two years having first opended for applications in May 2013. Since then, a multitude of local groups have been sucessful in obtaining grants from the annual £28,000 (index linked) made available by the wind farm to support local social, educational and environmental projects.

Successful recipients of funding over the past 12 months include:

  • Fenlands Church, Tydd Gote, who received £4,000 for a new suspended ceiling

  • Long Sutton Market House Trust, who received £1,500 for new flooring

  • Leverington Village Hall, who received £2,000 for new windows and doors

  • Tydd St Giles PPC, who received £4,000 for re-pointing of church building

  • ELLS, Long Sutton, who received £1,000 for replacement of Christmas lights for the town

  • Peele Community School, who received £700 for an allotment project

  • Cambridgeshire Short Mat Bowls, who received £1,000 for new mats

  • Sutton Bridge Foodbank, who received £3,670 for start up costs

  • Wisbech School Allotment Project, who received £5,000 for equipment to maintain alottment and play area

  • Holbeach Guide & Scout Hut, who received £4,000 to refurbish the kitchen and toilet facilities

  • Holbeach & Fenland Gymnastics Club, who received £2,799.40 for new equipment
