JANUARY 2013: TURBINE ASSEMBLY UNDERWAY

Turbine components have begun to arrive on site. The turbines are being transported in sections, with the blades, three tower sections, hubs and nacelles (the boxlike structure at the top of the tower that houses the gearbox and generator) delivered on separate, specially designed vehicles. Find below some photos of the tower bases (the first of the deliveries) being assembled on site.
